As we know that Windows always  sucks. Recently one of my friend come to me and ask that he is facing problem with Windows Vista. I asked him to switch on Linux, but he asked that first solve the problem and then he will switch to Linux.

The problem was related to Network access. He is using Windows Vista on dell laptop. Suddenly his encountered that his is not able to communicate with any network i.e. Wireless, Ether net card, BSNL mobile net. Although the laptop is able to find available wireless network nearby it. When He is trying to connect via any of means the OS is reporting error “Dependencies Service/Group failed to start.”

After some Google, and find that normally, system files corrupted caused by the following factors:

  1. Abnormal shutdown.
  2. Computer virus/Trojan.
  3. Program which is not certified for Windows Vista.

And to resolve above mentioned problems

  1. Please check compatibility before installing a hardware or software on your computer. Microsoft released a website for it: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/
  2. Keep update Windows by Windows Update or Microsoft Update.
  3. Do not run unknown program on the computer.

After that to solve the “dependencies Service/Group failed to start.” problem I found these solutions:

First Solution:

  1. Go the start menu and type cmd in the search bar.  Right-click on it and choose “run as administrator“.
  2. Now type "netsh winsock reset" without the quotes and hit enter.
  3. Next type, “netsh int ip reset" once again without the quotes and hit enter.
  4. Ignore it if it says that one of the repairs couldn’t be done and now restart the computer.

Second Solution:

  1. Go the start menu and type cmd in the search bar.  Right-click on it and choose “run as administrator“.
  2. Now type “sfc /scannow” without quotes and hit the Enter. This will try to scan your computer and find the problem. If the problem occurs then it will try to resolve those.Note: There is a SPACE between “SFC” and “/Scannow.”  It was also take quite awhile to finish.

After following these step, I was able to resolve the problem. Hope you can also do the same. But I wish you will never face this type of problem, So switch to Linux and live happily.

If you advocating Windows then you should first use Linux then only you can see both side of the coin. Now you are watching the one side of coin. Linux is far better from Windows.
